Saudia achieves notable growth in operational performance during the first half of 2025, according to its latest performance report. The airline carried over 17.5 million guests, a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024. This growth was supported by more than 100,000 flights, both scheduled and additional services, across its extensive network spanning four continents—a 4% rise. The airline recorded over 293,500 flight hours while maintaining an exceptional on-time performance (OTP) rate of 89.6%, ranking first worldwide for OTP in March and June 2025 as reported by Cirium, a leading global aviation analytics firm.
International operations saw Saudia transporting over 9.6 million guests, marking a 5% year-on-year increase, with more than 43,700 flights, a 3% rise from last year. Domestically, the airline carried more than 7.9 million passengers, reflecting a 10% increase, with over 56,400 flights operated across the Kingdom. These results underline Saudia’s role in connecting the Kingdom to the world and serving growing domestic travel demand.
The achievements are credited to the expertise and dedication of Saudia’s national workforce in operations, planning, execution, and performance monitoring. Strategic investments in advanced digital systems have also played a major role in improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall guest experience, reinforcing the airline’s reputation for quality service and reliability.
Saudia’s current fleet of 148 aircraft forms the backbone of its domestic and international operations. With plans to add 117 new aircraft in the coming years, the airline aims to increase flight frequencies, expand seat capacity on existing routes, and introduce new destinations. This fleet expansion aligns with Saudi Arabia’s national priorities in tourism, entertainment, sports, and the facilitation of Hajj and Umrah services.
Founded in 1945, Saudia is the Kingdom’s national flag carrier and one of the Middle East’s largest airlines, serving around 100 destinations across four continents, including all 28 domestic airports. As a member of IATA, AACO, and the SkyTeam alliance since 2012, Saudia maintains a strong presence in global aviation networks.
Saudia’s excellence has been recognised with multiple awards, including being named the “World’s Most Improved Airline 2024” by Skytrax for the third time, the “World Class Airline 2024” by APEX for the third consecutive year, and ranking top globally for OTP by Cirium. These accolades reflect the airline’s commitment to delivering world-class service and operational performance.
