Antara Cruises, continues to uphold its commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the country’s ecologically sensitive destinations. In Bhitarkanika National Park, Antara’s catamarans and crew have implemented rigorous cleanliness and waste management practices around the Gupti jetty and during all guest excursions.
The Antara team ensures that the entire jetty area—from the entry gate and access stairs to the boarding point—is kept impeccably clean and free from litter such as plastic bottles and wrappers. During each cruise, all onboard garbage bins are carefully brought back to land and the waste is responsibly disposed of in dustbins installed by the Forest Department.
Further extending their environmental responsibility, Antara’s naturalists and accompanying forest guides actively collect any plastic bottles or wrappers found during jungle walks with guests, ensuring proper disposal in designated bins.
“is one of India’s most pristine and biodiverse mangrove ecosystems. Our team takes immense pride in preserving its purity by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and environmental care,” said Vineet Arora, Chief Operating Officer, Antara Cruises. “At Antara, sustainability is not an initiative—it’s an integral part of how we operate and engage with nature.”
Through these sustained efforts, Antara reinforces its leadership in responsible river tourism, combining authentic exploration with a deep respect for the environment and local communities.
