Phulay Bay, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is redefining gastronomy and mixology with the launch of two newly reimagined venues: Sri Trang, an authentic yet refined Thai restaurant, and Pirom Bar, an all-new whiskey and gin bar offering guests the perfect setting for connection and conversation overlooking the Andaman Sea.
Sri Trang: Rediscovering Krabi’s Culinary Roots
Sri Trang, the resort’s signature Thai restaurant, will reopen on October 1, 2025, following an extensive refurbishment. The redesign blends contemporary elegance with bespoke furnishings, creating a warm and inviting ambiance that reflects the spirit of Southern Thailand.
Chef Aong, Phulay Bay’s Thai culinary maestro, has curated a new Southern Thai menu inspired by the region’s coastal bounty and her childhood memories. Highlighting Krabi’s unique ingredients—fresh coconuts, shrimp paste, palm sugar, fragrant herbs, and sustainably sourced seafood—Sri Trang offers a seasonal menu of heartfelt local recipes rarely found elsewhere in Thailand.
Pirom Bar: An Evocative Contrast of Light and Dark
Launching on October 15, 2025, Pirom Bar invites guests into an intimate mixology experience set against stunning sunset vistas. Located on the second floor between Sri Trang and Jampoon, the bar captures the changing moods of the day, from light to dark, serving expertly crafted gin and whiskey creations, premium Champagnes, and artisanal cocktails infused with local herbs and spices.
The name “Pirom” translates to “supreme joy” or “pleasure” in Thai, reflecting the essence of the bar experience—relaxation, conversation, and sensory indulgence after a day of exploration in Southern Thailand.
Four Hands Dinner with Chef Syrco Bakker
On November 26, 2025, Phulay Bay will host an exclusive Four Hands Dinner at Lae Lay, the resort’s seafood restaurant. Michelin-rated executive chef Christian Herrgesell and renowned Dutch-Indonesian chef Syrco Bakker, founder of Syrco BASÈ in Bali, will co-create a six-course menu featuring rare ingredients and culinary artistry, offering guests a truly exceptional dining experience.
Vision for Krabi Culinary Excellence
“Southern Thailand is one of the world’s great culinary destinations—a vibrant melting pot where cultures converge and fresh produce thrives. We are delighted to invite our discerning clientele to savor the authentic flavors of Krabi and its surrounding provinces with reimagined dining experiences at Sri Trang, and innovative mixology at Pirom Bar. Our new venues will further underscore Phulay Bay’s vision of creating guest journeys that stimulate the senses and evoke the essence of this idyllic, intriguing region,” said Mr. Vidya Sagar, General Manager of Phulay Bay.
