Air India and Maldivian interline partnership to enhance connectivity to Maldives

Air India and Maldivian have entered a bilateral interline partnership aimed at enhancing travel between India and the Maldives.

Through this collaboration, Air India passengers can now conveniently access 16 islands across the Maldives via Maldivian’s domestic network, including Hanimaadhoo, Kooddoo, Gan, Kaadedhdhoo, Kulhudhuffushi, Dharavandhoo, Maafaru, and Kadhdoo. Conversely, Maldivian passengers can connect seamlessly to Air India flights from Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram to Malé and Hanimaadhoo.

The interline arrangement allows travelers to book a single itinerary combining Air India and Maldivian flights, ensuring smooth connections and coordinated baggage handling.

“The Maldives remains one of the top leisure destinations for Indian travelers. This interline partnership opens access to the country’s lesser-explored atolls and islands. By integrating Air India’s global network with Maldivian’s domestic reach, travelers can explore the full diversity of the archipelago on a single itinerary,” said Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India.

Air India operates daily flights between Delhi and Malé, offering a direct capital-to-capital connection and deploying over 55,000 seats annually in one direction. Its global network also enables passengers from Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East to travel to the Maldives via Delhi.

“This partnership enhances accessibility to the Maldives and supports travel beyond Malé to the atolls. Combining Air India’s extensive network with our domestic reach will strengthen tourism and business travel between our nations,” said Ibrahim Iyas, Managing Director, Maldivian.

The partnership reinforces both airlines’ commitment to improving regional connectivity, supporting tourism growth, and delivering a seamless travel experience for passengers.
