The Saudi Tourism Authority’s consumer brand, Saudi, Welcome to Arabia, is set to offer Indian diners an immersive journey into Saudi gastronomy with The Saudi Table, a limited-edition culinary residency at One8 Commune, Gurgaon.
Curated by celebrated chef Kunal Kapur, the residency promises a deep dive into Saudi Arabia’s evolving food culture, blending centuries-old traditions with contemporary culinary expressions.
Drawing on historical culinary ties between the Arabian Peninsula and western India through maritime trade, The Saudi Table celebrates shared heritage while showcasing Saudi’s modern dining identity. Guests can explore grazing tables featuring fresh salads and mezze with ingredients such as Gulf-grown za’atar, pomegranate molasses, Madinah dates, saffron, and regionally prized herbs.
Small plates highlight street and home-cooked favourites, including grilled halloumi, aubergine, stuffed chicken wings, spiced lamb koftas, and Gulf-style seafood, all designed for communal sharing. Large plates such as kabsa, mansaf, and saffron rice with seafood pay homage to ceremonial dining traditions, while desserts like rose-and-pistachio panna cotta, date-and-almond confections, and warm kunafa provide a fragrant finish.
The residency reflects Saudi dining culture—unhurried, communal, and layered with meaning—encouraging guests to sit, stand, or mingle while exploring the menu. Beyond taste, the experience offers a window into Saudi Arabia’s multidimensional culture, highlighting centuries of trade, migration, and cultural exchange, particularly with India.
The Saudi Table will run from 12 to 17 December 2025, with access through District by Zomato. Food enthusiasts, urban travellers, and culturally curious diners are invited to experience Saudi cuisine in a setting that celebrates history, hospitality, and exceptional gastronomy.
