IndiGoReach and InterGlobe Foundation, in collaboration with Sahapedia, hosted a heritage walk in Gwalior as part of the ongoing ‘My City My Heritage’ campaign, aimed at celebrating and promoting the cultural heritage of Indian cities. The campaign seeks to reconnect citizens with their roots, fostering pride and long-term commitment to cultural preservation.
Themed “Gwalior’s Heritage at Maharaj Bada,” the walk offered participants a deep dive into the city’s iconic central square, highlighting its architectural grandeur, vibrant history, and cultural significance. Led by Neelesh Ishwarchandra Karkare and Dr Ankit Agrawal, the event saw participation from local residents, government officials, and senior leadership from InterGlobe Foundation and IndiGo.
The campaign has previously explored ten cities, including Prayagraj, Bhubaneswar, Shillong, Nashik, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Ahmedabad, and Puducherry. Through immersive heritage walks and collaborative projects, it encourages citizens to rediscover local history and nurture a sense of belonging.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson, InterGlobe Foundation, said, “Gwalior, with its incredible architectural and cultural depth, marks another significant chapter in our journey. By showcasing these landmarks and engaging citizens, we hope to inspire pride and collective responsibility, ensuring our heritage remains a vibrant and cherished part of our future.”
Both InterGlobe Foundation and IndiGoReach have undertaken several heritage conservation projects, including the restoration of Qutb Shah’s Mausoleum, cultural mapping of cities, conservation of Lal Bagh Palace interiors in Indore, and revival of historic sites like Abdur Rahim Khan-I-Khanan’s mausoleum in Delhi.
