Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), through its airlines Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, will operate more than 2,700 domestic flights during the upcoming Ramadan and Hari Raya Aidilfitri peak travel period, making it easier for Malaysians to reunite with family and loved ones during the festive season.
During this period, Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 1,557 flights, while Firefly will provide up to 1,176 services, strengthening connectivity across Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia. The expanded schedule offers travellers greater flexibility and more options to plan their journeys home.
To meet increased demand, Malaysia Airlines will deploy larger aircraft on high-traffic routes including Alor Setar, Kota Bharu, Terengganu, Miri, Sibu, Kuching, Tawau, Sandakan, and Kota Kinabalu. In addition, red-eye flights will be operated to Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, and Kuching, allowing travellers to maximise their travel time during the festive period.
Complementing the additional capacity, both airlines are offering fixed all-in one-way fares for key East Malaysia routes. Malaysia Airlines fares start from RM339 to Sarawak and RM399 to Sabah on selected flights, while Firefly fares start from RM298 to Sarawak and RM348 to Sabah. These promotional fares are available for purchase until 29 March 2026, for travel between 17 March and 29 March 2026, exclusively via the airlines’ official websites and mobile applications.
In support of the Government’s festive travel initiative, fare caps will also be applied on selected East Malaysia routes for travel between 17 March and 20 March 2026. Malaysia Airlines will offer maximum all-in one-way fares of up to RM569, while Firefly will cap fares at RM548 on selected services.
