Known for its close proximity to Singapore, Bintan has emerged as a preferred island getaway for Indian travellers seeking sun, sand, and sea. Making its maiden appearance at OTM 2026 (Outbound Travel Mart), Bintan Resorts joined the Singapore Pavilion to engage with India’s travel trade and reinforce its positioning as a short-haul holiday destination accessible via a one-hour ferry from Singapore.
In 2025, Bintan welcomed over 13,000 Indian visitors, driven by growing awareness and competitive pricing. For 2026, the focus is on expanding FIT traffic and strengthening the MICE segment. With visa-on-arrival access for Indian travellers, beachfront resorts, golf courses, integrated event venues, and signature sporting events like the Bintan Triathlon, Marathon, and Tour de Bintan, the island offers experiential and wellness-focused itineraries aligned with evolving Indian travel trends.
Commenting on the participation, Mr. Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer, Bintan Resorts, said:
“India remains one of our most dynamic growth markets. Our presence at OTM 2026 with Singapore Tourism highlighted the twin destination offering to India’s travel fraternity and underlines our long-term commitment to strengthening trade partnerships and increasing visibility in key cities. We also aim to scale our B2C presence to further showcase Bintan’s diverse offerings.”
With targeted trade engagement and clear market priorities, Bintan Resorts is poised to accelerate its India business in 2026, positioning the island as a premier short-haul escape for leisure, wellness, and experiential travellers.
