Vivid Sydney 2026 program has been officially revealed, promising a bold evolution of one of the world’s leading multi-artform festivals. Scheduled to run from May 22 to June 13, 2026, the 23-day celebration will, for the first time, extend beyond its iconic night-time appeal to include a vibrant lineup of daytime experiences.
Marking a new era for the festival, Vivid Sydney 2026 introduces an expanded program featuring installations, performances, talks, and culinary events across both day and night. More than 80% of the program will remain free, including the signature Vivid Light Walk, a continuous 6.5-kilometre trail showcasing over 43 immersive light installations across key precincts such as Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo, and Darling Harbour.
The festival continues to be anchored in its four creative pillars—Vivid Light, Vivid Music, Vivid Minds, and Vivid Food—bringing together a diverse mix of global and local talent. This year’s program features large-scale installations such as Molecule of Light and Obstacle, alongside projections on the Sydney Opera House and other landmark sites, transforming the harbour city into a dynamic canvas of creativity.
A key highlight for 2026 is the introduction of daytime programming, including immersive art, theatre, and family-friendly experiences, enhancing the festival’s accessibility and appeal to a broader audience. The event will also host thought-provoking sessions under Vivid Minds, featuring internationally acclaimed filmmakers, authors, and cultural commentators, fostering dialogue around contemporary creative practices.
The culinary segment, Vivid Food, returns with an enriched offering, spotlighting regional produce and collaborations with renowned chefs through curated dining experiences and the popular Vivid Fire Kitchen, now relocated to Barangaroo Reserve. Meanwhile, Vivid Music will feature an eclectic mix of international and homegrown artists, complemented by free live performances throughout the festival.
Backed by the New South Wales Government, Vivid Sydney continues to play a pivotal role in driving tourism and supporting local businesses, with hundreds of partners contributing to the citywide celebration. Expressions of interest for the 2026 Local Business Program are currently open, further strengthening industry participation.
With its expanded format, Vivid Sydney 2026 is set to deliver a comprehensive, immersive festival experience, reinforcing Sydney’s position as a global hub for culture, creativity, and innovation.
