Air India Express strengthens India–UAE connectivity with Northeast India services

Air India Express has expanded its international network with the launch of new direct services connecting Northeast India with the United Arab Emirates. The airline has introduced flights linking Guwahati with Abu Dhabi and Dubai, marking a significant milestone in enhancing international connectivity for the region.

The new routes are expected to provide travellers from Northeast India with convenient access to two of the UAE’s key aviation gateways while reducing travel time and dependence on connecting flights through other Indian cities. The services will cater to leisure travellers, business passengers, and the large Indian diaspora residing in the Gulf region.

Industry stakeholders have welcomed the launch, noting that improved international connectivity can play a vital role in supporting tourism, trade, and economic development across Northeast India. The routes are also expected to create new opportunities for travel companies, tour operators, and hospitality businesses serving both markets.

The expansion forms part of Air India Express’ broader strategy to strengthen its presence in international markets and enhance connectivity between India’s emerging regions and key global destinations. The airline continues to focus on network growth while supporting the government’s vision of improving air access across the country.
