10 New Members join Relais & Châteaux

The ten properties that most recently became part of the Relais & Châteaux family illustrate the Association’s extensive presence across the globe. While each of these new members unquestionably boasts its own distinctive personality, they all are united in sharing the Relais & Châteaux values and vision of hospitality. These properties are deeply dedicated to art de vivre, fine dining, and respecting cultural diversity. They represent France, United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Japan, Mexico and the United States.

On one of Lisbon’s seven hills, next to Bairro Alto, reached aboard the famous yellow trams, the district of Santa Catarina has retained its authentic character. This network of quiet lanes lined with cafés invites guests to appreciate the slower side of life in the Portuguese capital. Set on land overlooking the Tagus River, Relais & Châteaux Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina occupies an 18th-century former palace. A careful restoration carried out by architect Teresa Nunes da Ponte has successfully preserved the neoclassical elegance of this historic monument–a feat that becomes immediately evident when you ascend the steps leading to the lobby, with its black-and-white chequered marble floor.

Interior designers have skillfully played on contrasts: a bold choice, but a judicious one. Contemporary furnishings with saturated colors and fluid lines juxtapose against heritage elements that once made the palace a prestigious residence–think faience fireplaces, coffered ceilings, intricate moldings and Trumeau mirrors. Arranged sympathetically with the original architecture, the property’s 18 rooms and suites are all different, yet all benefit from high windows which–along with the amazing rooftop or the relaxing pool–offer exceptional vantage points over the city’s red roofs and its great river, which resembles an inland sea. On the menus at Suba and TLC 55, Chef Fábio Alves’s airy cuisine pays homage to Portuguese culinary heritage and its authentic flavors.

Set on the shores of Lake Saint-Point in the heart of the Jura, this large stone and timber property embodies the vision of Chef Matthias Marc and his wife Hanna. After leaving his Michelin-starred restaurant in Paris, the chef chose to return to his native region to create a destination that draws inspiration from local tradition, where guests can enjoy cuisine closely tied to the terroir. Surrounded by forest-covered hills, the natural setting of Lake Saint Point perfectly brings this vision to life. Both inside and out, Relais & Châteaux La Maison des Cimes draws on local architectural tradition. Once a carpenter’s workshop, the property pays tribute to this heritage with wood as the defining material throughout its six rooms and two suites, the latter each featuring a private balcony with a Nordic bath. Interior designer Hanna has crafted a warm and intimate feel that’s echoed in the refined setting of the restaurant. At La Table des Cimes, Chef Marc presents a culinary concept entirely based on wood-fired cooking, celebrating regional produce and complemented by a cellar featuring 800 references, including 400 from the Jura. The same approach can be found at Le Bistrot des Bûcherons, where the chef offers a more convivial interpretation of his cuisine, prepared on glowing embers. After a walk through the forest or along the lake, guests can unwind in the Nordic bathtub, set in the garden.

Restaurant AuraTerrae, traditional local cuisine Perched on a hill overlooking the Adriatic, surrounded by vineyards and century-old olive trees, Relais & Châteaux Masseria AuraTerrae – owned by the Valentini family – reflects the distinctive character of Puglia, offering the chance to experience a traditional masseria (‘farmhouse’) in an authentic rural setting. Behind its whitewashed walls, this 18th- century estate, evoking an ancient Puglian agricultural hamlet, offers stays combining nature, well-being and gastronomy.

Recent renovations preserved the rural character of the property while introducing contemporary decorative touches. Its 22 rooms and suites occupy spaces that, among others, were formerly a cistern, sheepfold and dovecote, each preserving original architectural features such as vaulted ceilings, alcoves, curved lines and traditional stone floors. Light fabrics and blond woods create a calm and soothing atmosphere throughout.

The estate’s 60 acres of vineyards and orchards provide an ideal setting for relaxing walks bathed in the light of the south. Days unfold alongside one of two swimming pools with panoramic views, excursions along the coast, visits to nearby UNESCO-listed sites, or restorative wellness treatments. At AuraTerrae restaurant, traditional Italian cuisine showcases seasonal produce, from locally sourced seafood to handmade pasta, served outdoors during the warmer months or in a vaulted dining room in winter.

The Andrew, fine dining restaurant, creative cuisine Le Simon, refined Franco-Italian cuisine rooted in tradition and sharing With its weathered wooden facade, this traditional chalet reflects the timeless charm of Alpine architecture. Located close to the historic center of Megève–and just footsteps away from La Princesse ski lifts that lead to Mont d’Arbois– Relais & Châteaux Megève Bois offers direct access to the pleasures of the mountains throughout the year. With just dozen rooms and suites, the property feels more like a private home than a hotel. Soft materials, specially chosen pieces and warm tones create a welcoming, convivial atmosphere. Many guest rooms have been thoughtfully designed for families, with mezzanine floors and interconnected rooms. The property also showcases a strong creative identity, with a collection of artworks carefully curated by the Maîtres de maison. That spirit of collection extends to the wine cellar, which contains around 850 references. At Le Simon, Chef Elvis Dedi creates cuisine designed for sharing, combining Italian and French flavors with Alpine influences, while a more gastronomic expression of his cuisine can be found at The Andrew. The on-site Kezia Spa features a jacuzzi, a steam sauna, a Himalayan salt relaxation room, and a range of facial and body treatments, including an immersive ritual in a heated alpine hay bed.

Located on a quiet street in Mexico City ’s Polanco district, this discreet property could easily go unnoticed. Yet inside lies Relais & Châteaux Quintonil Restaurant, one of the city ’s most sought-after dining destinations. In an intimate setting, with a contemporary décor inspired by its surroundings, Chef Jorge Vallejo and his wife and partner Alejandra Flores welcome guests drawn as much by the cuisine as its reputation. Before opening this now two-Michelin-starred restaurant, ranked third in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Chef Vallejo developed a strong foundation in international cuisine.

Today, he brings this experience to redefine contemporary Mexican cooking in a way that’s deeply personal yet profoundly rooted in this culinary culture. His tasting ever-evolving menu expresses the richness of Mexican terroir, tradition and culture, combined with a contemporary perspective. Supported by a wine cellar featuring over 700 references, the chef is known for celebrating lesser-known ingredients, including endemic varieties of condiments and corn. At times, unexpected elements–as insects–are introduced, for instance in a dish combining tuna, lacto-fermented mushrooms and grasshopper chintextle.

Restaurant Zunica 1880, 1 Michelin star 2026, farm-to-table cuisine

Restaurant Villa Corallo Bistro, Italian, seasonal and convivial cuisine Reached via a cypress-lined driveway, Relais & Châteaux Relais Villa Corallo offers a countryside retreat on a 198-acre estate between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. Owned by the Di Serafino family, this 19th-century manor house reflects a refined sense of Italian hospitality, with beautifully finessed interiors and a welcoming atmosphere. With just eleven rooms and suites, the villa offers an intimate and family-like feel. Overlooking the gardens, outdoor pool and fountains, guest rooms combine historic features with select decorative pieces, including black Marquina marble fireplaces, Carrara marble bathrooms, Art Deco furniture in walnut burl and William Morris wallpaper. Chef Gianni Dezio, a native of the region, showcases the flavors of Abruzzo in cuisine made with local ingredients. Produce from the estate’s vegetable gardens and farm features prominently in the tasting menu served at Michelin-starred Zunica 1880 restaurant.

The same approach to regional cuisine continues at Relais Villa Corallo Bistro, the property’s second restaurant, newly opened this summer. Guests can enjoy a range of experiences including spa treatments, wine tastings, horse riding excursions and temporary exhibitions by artists in residence.

Children are accepted in selected room categories Founded in 1818, this historic ryokan in the heart of Kyoto has been owned and operated by the same family for seven generations. Considered a landmark of Japanese heritage, it has long welcomed renowned writers, cultural figures and loyal guests, drawn by the enduring philosophy expressed at its entrance: “Our wish is that our guests feel at home. ”

Ideally located near the Imperial Palace, Relais & Châteaux Hiiragiya embodies a refined sense of hospitality that remains deeply rooted in tradition. Its 23 rooms blend the essence and artisanship of traditional Japan with modern-day comfort, including tatami flooring, low tables and sliding shoji screens that open onto the calm of its gardens. Guests’ baths are crafted from fragrant Japanese umbrella pine (Kōyamaki) and filled with pure underground water. A quiet library and two private baths are also available. Dining at Hiiragiya celebrates the traditions of kaiseki cuisine, with subtle modern touches. The menu evolves with the seasons and Kyoto’s cultural calendar, with meals served in guests’ own rooms or in the dining room.

Its transformation into an intimate urban boutique hotel took nearly three years of renovations. Under Lalique, the property has a discreet, refined ambience, with just thirteen rooms. Interiors, by Monaco-based studio Green & Mingarelli Design, draw on the expertise of master artisans.

In the lounges and guest rooms alike, an Art Deco aesthetic is expressed through furniture, carpets and decorative objects created specifically for the property, reflecting the artistic identity of Lalique. Both Signature Restaurant and FlorhofBar & Brasserie are led by Chef Christian Jürgens. Originally from Germany, where he built his career in several Michelin-starred establishments, his cuisine is defined by flavor, a sense of balance and subtle creativity. The experience is complemented by an extensive wine list: the co-owner of Villa Florhof and Executive Chairman Lalique Group, Silvio Denz, is a discerning wine enthusiast, who has overseen the creation of cellars featuring more than 3,500 carefully chosen references.

Restaurant The Dining Room, English cuisine with Mediterranean influences Set within the rolling countryside of Suffolk, in the east of England, Relais & Châteaux Wilderness Reserve immerses guests in the historic landscapes that inspired painter John Constable. This idyllic estate, surrounded by villages and historic pubs, offers a refined, contemporary interpretation of the wholesome, rural lifestyle depicted in the artist’s works.

Set across around 6,000 acres, the property comprises a variety of accommodation inspired by traditional English architecture, ranging from charming thatched cottages to an 18th-century manor house with eight bedrooms. Each space draws on local heritage, with traditional architectural features and distinctive decorative details, such as murals, to create interiors full of character. The 29 lodgings accommodate between two and eighteen guests in unique settings, whether by a lake, enveloped in nature or surrounded by open fields. Guests are invited to explore this secluded retreat on foot or by bike, and to relax in the spa, which features a heated outdoor pool–selected cottages feature hot tubs and private pools. The two restaurants source produce from farms across Suffolk: The Dining Room presents a contemporary interpretation of English cuisine with Mediterranean influences, while Fire Feast welcomes guests to an open-air, wood-fired dining experience where the emphasis is on sharing.

Riding the SKYLIFT from Top of the Rock offers unrivalled views over Manhattan’s skyline, including Central Park, Fifth Avenue and the Empire State Building. This exceptional panorama will also soon be visible directly from the guest rooms of Relais & Châteaux The Nell New York, set to open at 10 Rockefeller Plaza. With 134 rooms and suites, this new hotel inspired by art Deco design, is distinguished by an impressive collection of works by internationally acclaimed artists, shaping its unique atmosphere. Relais & Châteaux The Nell New York will offer a variety of dining experiences, including an all-day dining venue, a lobby bar and a wine lounge, alongside a large reception space. A signature gourmet restaurant, set on the 17th floor and offering expansive views over Rockefeller Center will compliment the culinary offering. The hotel will also feature a 3,500-square- foot spa with four treatment rooms, a relaxation area and fitness center.
