The Enterprising Travel Agents’ Association (ETAA) recently organised a Product Training Session on Travel Insurance in Mumbai, in association with ASEGO, its Preferred Insurance Partner. The session was aimed at equipping ETAA members with a stronger understanding of travel insurance products, their benefits and practical applications, enabling them to offer greater value, assistance and protection to their customers.
The training session covered a range of relevant topics designed to help travel professionals better understand travel insurance and confidently address customer requirements. A key focus was on Track Mate assistance and baggage delay claims, with the ASEGO team explaining the process and highlighting how travel agents can guide customers more effectively when faced with baggage-related disruptions during their journeys.
The session also highlighted the relevance of travel insurance for domestic travel. Members were briefed on affordable premium options and the protection available against unforeseen situations that may affect domestic trips. Coverage and assistance related to flight delays and cancellations were also discussed, giving members greater clarity on how insurance can support travellers when plans are disrupted by unexpected changes.
Another important area covered during the session was ancillary services. The discussion explored additional services and benefits available under travel insurance that can provide travellers with greater support, convenience and assistance throughout their journeys. The session also addressed various other product features, benefits and claim-related aspects, helping members understand how to assess customer requirements and recommend suitable insurance options.

The presentation and interaction were led by senior members of the ASEGO team, including Mr. Milan Patel, Head, Sales – Western India; Mr. Prakash Naiket, Head, Underwriting & Claims; and Mr. Yogesh Palande, VP, Retail Business. Their participation enabled ETAA members to gain direct insights into ASEGO’s insurance offerings while also providing an opportunity to raise questions and clarify practical aspects related to products and claims.
Beyond product training, the session served as a platform for member interaction and industry networking. Through such initiatives, ETAA continues to support its members with relevant product knowledge and industry interactions that can help them stay informed about evolving travel solutions. The association plans to organise more product presentations, knowledge-sharing sessions and networking opportunities for its members, enabling them to explore a wider range of products and services while building stronger relationships with industry partners.
The initiative reinforces ETAA’s continued focus on professional development, collaboration and knowledge exchange within the travel trade. By bringing members and industry partners together, the association aims to create opportunities for learning while strengthening the wider travel ecosystem.
