Taj Hotels announces the appointment of Surinder Singh as Area Director – Operations & General Manager, Taj Chandigarh. With over three decades of experience in luxury hospitality, Mr Singh will oversee operations across Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir, focusing on revenue growth, experiential hospitality initiatives, and strategic brand expansion in the northern region.
Mr Singh brings a distinguished track record within Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), having held leadership roles including Area Director – Operations, Delhi NCR & Haryana, and General Manager, Taj City Centre, Gurugram. He has led iconic properties such as Taj Mahal Lucknow, Blue Diamond Pune, Vivanta New Delhi Dwarka, and previously Taj Chandigarh, blending operational expertise with innovative guest experiences.
During his tenure at Taj City Centre, Gurugram, the hotel achieved notable revenue milestones, high employee engagement, and superior guest satisfaction. Under his leadership, the property earned Gold Certification by EarthCheck for sustainability and maintained exemplary standards in safety and quality audits.
Beyond hotel operations, Mr Singh actively contributes to community development and the broader hospitality industry. He has collaborated with organizations like Pratham Education Foundation to empower local talent and holds leadership roles as Vice President of HRAI and Executive Committee Member of HAI.
An alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad, Cornell University, and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Mr Singh combines strategic insight with a deep understanding of cross-cultural guest engagement and operational excellence.
