Air India to Launch Daily Delhi–Gaya Flights Starting 1 September 2025
In a significant move to enhance regional air connectivity and support cultural tourism, Air India has announced the commencement of daily non-stop flights between Delhi and Gaya, effective 1 September 2025.
This new route aims to cater to increasing demand from both domestic and international travelers visiting Gaya — home to the sacred Mahabodhi Temple and an important stop on the Buddhist pilgrimage circuit. The route is also expected to be a boon for Hindu pilgrims and tourists exploring the historical and spiritual richness of the region.
Flight Schedule & Aircraft Details
While the official schedule is yet to be released, the flight is expected to operate on the following tentative timings:
- Delhi to Gaya: Departure at 10:00 AM, Arrival at 12:00 PM
- Gaya to Delhi: Departure at 1:00 PM, Arrival at 3:00 PM
Air India will deploy an Airbus A320 aircraft on the route, offering both economy and business class seating, along with in-flight meals and the airline’s signature hospitality.
Airline Statement
Commenting on the new route, an Air India spokesperson said:
“We are pleased to introduce daily flights between Delhi and Gaya, strengthening our domestic network while supporting tourism and pilgrimage travel. Gaya is a city of immense cultural and spiritual significance, and we are committed to making it more accessible for travelers from across India and beyond.”
Boost to Tourism and Pilgrimage Travel
This new daily connection is particularly timely as Gaya prepares for its peak tourism season, which attracts thousands of international visitors from countries such as Thailand, Japan, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. Improved connectivity via Delhi — a major international hub — will make the journey smoother for many of these travelers.
The launch is part of Air India’s broader network expansion plan post-privatization, focusing on better regional reach, upgraded fleet, and improved service standards.
