China Eastern Airlines announces daily non-stop Delhi–Shanghai flights from 2 January 2026

China Eastern Airlines announces the launch of daily non-stop flights between Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL), New Delhi, and Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), effective 2 January 2026, in response to strong passenger demand and its commitment to enhancing air connectivity between India and China.

This rapid expansion follows the successful relaunch of the Delhi–Shanghai route in November 2025, after a five-year hiatus. Originally planned as a phased increase from three to five weekly services, the overwhelming response from passengers and trade partners has prompted China Eastern Airlines to directly upgrade the route to daily operations, offering greater convenience and flexibility for travellers.

The service will be operated by a wide-body Airbus A330-200, featuring 18 lie-flat Business Class seats and 245 Economy Class seats, ensuring a comfortable and premium onboard experience.

Winter Schedule:

  • MU564 departs Delhi at 19:55, arriving in Shanghai Pudong at 04:10 the following day

  • MU563 departs Shanghai at 12:50, arriving in Delhi at 17:45

InterGlobe Air Transport, the exclusive General Sales Agent (GSA) for China Eastern Airlines in India for over two decades, continues to manage the airline’s full commercial and operational functions in the country, including sales, marketing, ticketing, and customer support. Leveraging its extensive distribution and trade network, InterGlobe remains committed to ensuring the sustained success of this strategically important route.

China Eastern Airlines also offers interline connectivity, enabling passengers to book seamless single-ticket journeys from 39 Indian cities via Delhi to Shanghai, with onward connections across the airline’s extensive global network. Through-baggage check-in to the final destination ensures a smooth and hassle-free travel experience.

Looking ahead, China Eastern Airlines plans to further expand its presence in India with the relaunch of Kolkata–Kunming services and the introduction of a new Mumbai–Shanghai route in the near future. These initiatives reinforce the airline’s vision to strengthen trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between India and China.

To commemorate the successful resumption of the Delhi–Shanghai route, China Eastern Airlines and InterGlobe Air Transport hosted an exclusive evening in New Delhi on 15 December 2025, bringing together key industry stakeholders, trade partners, and dignitaries to celebrate the milestone and explore future opportunities for collaboration and growth.
