The Government of Nagaland has appointed Air India Express, India’s first international value carrier, as the official travel partner for the Hornbill Festival 2025, a flagship celebration of tribal heritage, music, food, and traditions.

The announcement was made jointly by Shri Abu Metha, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, and Shri Aloke Singh, Managing Director, Air India Express, at the airline’s headquarters in Gurugram, in the presence of senior officials from the Government of Nagaland and the airline.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Nagaland, Shri Neiphiu Rio, welcomed the collaboration, noting that it will strengthen connectivity, enhance visitor experiences, and showcase Nagaland as a vibrant cultural and tourism destination.

Shri Aloke Singh said, “Through our Tales of India initiative, we celebrate India’s diverse cultural heritage. The Hornbill Festival reflects the spirit and artistry of the region. Our new Boeing 737-8 aircraft, VT-BWD, featuring the Tsüngkotepsü livery, marks the first aircraft in our fleet with a retrofitted cabin and honours the rich artistic legacy of Nagaland.”

The airline will facilitate travel for festival artists and organisers, provide a dedicated Hornbill experience kiosk at Dimapur Airport, and offer a flat 15% discount on direct and one-stop flights to Dimapur for bookings between 20–30 November 2025, using promo code HORNBILL.

Air India Express connects Dimapur to Guwahati, with onward connectivity from Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Patna, and operates multiple weekly flights across the Northeast region, enhancing mobility and accessibility.

Through the Tales of India initiative, the airline showcases regional art on aircraft tails, including designs from Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Mizoram, celebrating India’s cultural richness in the skies.
