The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, chaired at Lok Bhavan, approved 20 major proposals across a wide range of sectors including health, tourism, water supply, urban development, sports, environment, and Divyang welfare. Of the 21 items presented, 20 received final approval. An additional proposal relating to industrial concessions was also discussed.
The government approved incentives under State GST provisions, including a payment of ₹1.50 crore to Paswara Papers Ltd and reimbursement of ₹65.67 lakh. A similar industrial proposal involving Vrindavan Agro Ltd (Mathura) was also cleared.
Major Infrastructure and Urban Development Projects
Under the AMRUT scheme, Kanpur will receive ₹317 crore for a large drinking water project benefiting 33 wards. The Cabinet also approved transfer of 45,000 sq m of Nazul land in Civil Lines—earlier the site of the Georgeina McRobert Memorial Hospital—to the local development authority for redevelopment. In Bareilly, a ₹266-crore drinking water project was approved, expected to serve 92% of the municipal population.
The Cabinet further approved construction of the Chandauli–Sakaldih four-lane road, costing ₹29 crore, with a revised cost of approximately ₹4.92 crore. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Tourism & Cultural Development
A major tourism boost was announced with approval of 52.102 acres of Nazul land in Ayodhya for the development of a world-class museum featuring extensive information on regional temples, heritage, and cultural traditions.
Additionally, Bagpat district will see the development of a large-scale International Yoga and Wellness Centre, covering 70.885 hectares in Hariya Kheda village. Developed under a public-private partnership model, the centre aims to attract domestic and international wellness tourists, generate local employment, and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
Sports Initiatives
The Cabinet approved continued development of Dr Sampurnanand Sigra Stadium in coordination with the Sports Authority of India (SAI). As part of the collaboration, one-third of the facility will be allocated to SAI.
In a major relief for sportspersons, the government decided that athletes recruited directly based on medal achievements will now have time spent in competitions and training camps counted as “on duty,” eliminating the need to apply for leave.
Social Welfare
The state will establish Divyang Rehabilitation Centres at all divisional headquarters to improve support and essential services for persons with disabilities.
