Embassy of Switzerland issues new guidelines for visa applications in India

The Embassy of Switzerland in New Delhi directs that applicants must follow specific instructions when submitting applications at Visa Application Centres (VACs):

1. Only the documents listed in the official checklist for the respective visa category will be accepted at the VAC.

2. Applicants are required to submit bank statements of the last three months only. To minimise paper usage and in support of environmental sustainability, statements should be printed on both sides of the paper.

3. In cases where statements are submitted for the last six months, applicants are required to submit only the first three and last three pages of their six months bank statements.

Please note that these measures:

• are applicable only for visa applicants in India

• are intended to reduce the application processing timelines

• will have no bearing on the visa decision making process.

VFS Global manages only the front-end administrative tasks of the visa application process. This includes collecting application forms and required documentation per government guidelines and ensuring the secure return of passports through courier or at the counter after the Embassy decision. Decision on visa policies and processes are the responsibility of our client governments. VFS Global plays no role in formulating them. As a responsible service provider, we just adhere strictly to the directives of our client governments and operate in accordance with their stipulated guidelines.”
