Mr. Praveen Ghaai, Joint Secretary and Treasurer of the Enterprising Travel Agents Association (ETAA) and Representative of North India, met with Mr. Kapil Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of Tourism, Government of NCT of Delhi, today to discuss key initiatives aimed at enhancing tourism in the national capital.

During the meeting, the ETAA delegation apprised the Hon’ble Minister of several important concerns and shared constructive suggestions to strengthen Delhi’s tourism ecosystem. The discussion focused on the need for regularization of travel agents in Delhi to curb fraudulent practices and build greater trust among domestic and international tourists.
The delegation also highlighted strategies to promote domestic and inbound tourism, emphasizing Delhi’s cultural, historical, and experiential offerings. Concerns regarding the impact of pollution on tourist inflow were raised, along with the need for coordinated efforts to address this challenge.
Additionally, ETAA stressed the importance of improving tourist facilities across the city, including the establishment of Tourist Police and adequate public convenience facilities at key tourist locations. The registration of travel agents with the Delhi Tourism Ministry was also discussed as a step toward enhancing tourist confidence and ensuring professional standards within the industry.
The Hon’ble Minister appreciated ETAA’s proactive and collaborative approach and assured full support in addressing the issues raised. He directed concerned officers to submit a detailed report on the points discussed, reflecting a positive move toward joint efforts for tourism development in Delhi.
ETAA expressed its commitment to working closely with the Delhi Tourism Ministry to implement these initiatives and promote Delhi as a safe, reliable, and attractive destination for tourists from India and around the world.
