Indian travelers are increasingly connecting with Central Florida, according to new research from the Experience Kissimmee team. The study highlights visitor demographics, motivations, and spending patterns, demonstrating why Kissimmee remains a top choice for one of the world’s fastest-growing outbound travel markets.

Key findings from the research include:

  • The average Indian visitor to the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford area in 2024 was 35–39 years old, often traveling solo (70%) or with family/friends (18.6%). Middle-aged travelers with young children make up 32% of the market. Trips are typically planned 89 days in advance, with flights booked 41 days prior.

  • Top activities include sightseeing (93%), shopping (82%), and theme park visits (56%), with 23% of visitors also adding Miami to their itineraries.

  • Digital platforms strongly influence travel planning, with YouTube (95%), Instagram (92%), and Facebook (89%) being the most popular. Travelers are often inspired by friends and family posts.

  • On average, visitors stay 31 nights, spending $4,339 per trip and $5,838 per travel party, mainly on accommodation (66.9%), food and beverage (12.5%), and recreation (1.6%).

  • Accommodation preferences: 85% choose hotels or motels (~6 nights), 8% opt for vacation homes (~9 nights).

  • Transportation habits: 60% rent cars, 28% take domestic flights.

  • Information sources: 56% rely on airlines, 49% on personal recommendations, and 9% on OTAs.

  • Florida ranks as the third most desired U.S. state among Indian travelers, with peak interest in January and May.

The research also notes that Indian visitors describe the U.S. as friendly, unique, energetic, welcoming, and relaxing, with an average household income of $49,387, and 52% earning above $60,000 annually.

“Indian travelers value immersive experiences that combine fun, relaxation, and family togetherness,” said [Spokesperson Name], Experience Kissimmee. “With its iconic attractions, welcoming atmosphere, and year-round sunshine, Kissimmee continues to deliver connection, comfort, and memorable adventures that meet the expectations of this growing market.”

This study underscores the significance of Indian travelers to Central Florida’s tourism sector and highlights opportunities for tailored experiences, marketing strategies, and hospitality offerings designed to meet their preferences.
