Four Seasons Resorts Maldives introduces Mo, a charismatic oyster mushroom, as the Official Spokesmushroom, highlighting the resort’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and local sourcing. Mo represents the resort’s Planetary Wellbeing initiatives, alongside the 150-strong United Featheration of chickens, ducks, and quail, the 100-variety Garden Gang of herbs, vegetables, and fruits, and the 8,000-strong Orchid Crew.

Every day, Zero-Mile Champions like Mo and his fellow produce travel 200 to 400 metres across the island to on-site restaurants, appearing in a wide range of soups, salads, mains, desserts, and drinks. Signature dishes benefiting from these locally sourced ingredients include Landaa Happy Egg with local pumpkin cream, White Snapper Carpaccio with Kulafilha leaf, and Slow-Cooked Rainbow Runner with cauliflower, dill, and roasted lemon.
“Mo and his colleagues are unsung heroes of our sustainability efforts,” said a Four Seasons Maldives spokesperson. “By highlighting our island-grown ingredients and Zero-Mile initiatives, we aim to show guests how our approach supports the environment, promotes local produce, and strengthens our Planetary Wellbeing vision.”
The resort’s Planetary Wellbeing program continues to evolve, combining earth-friendly practices, local sourcing, and innovative sustainability projects to deliver memorable, environmentally responsible experiences for guests in the Maldives.
