Rajiv Kapoor appointed as GM of Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel

Rajiv Kapoor has been appointed General Manager of Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn, A Morgans Originals Hotel, bringing unified leadership to two distinct luxury brands in one of India’s most competitive hospitality markets.

Roswyn, currently in its pre-opening phase, marks the India debut of Morgans Originals, a collection by Ennismore known for its portfolio of entrepreneurial, design-led brands rooted in creativity and purpose.

Kapoor has led Fairmont Mumbai since its pre-opening stage, steering the property’s launch in April 2025 and establishing its operational framework from concept to opening. With more than 25 years of experience in luxury hospitality, he brings expertise in hotel operations, strategic planning, guest experience, and high-performance team leadership. His approach combines commercial acumen with strong brand positioning, consistently translating vision into measurable results.

In his expanded role, Kapoor will oversee overall operations, commercial performance, strategic growth, and team development across both hotels. While Fairmont Mumbai reflects the scale and heritage of the global Fairmont brand, Roswyn will embody the independent, culturally driven identity of Morgans Originals. Under his leadership, both properties will retain distinct brand positioning while maintaining consistent service excellence.

The strategic focus will include accelerating revenue growth, strengthening ADR and market share, driving operational synergies, and building long-term brand equity across both hotels.

Reflecting on the appointment, Kapoor noted that Fairmont Mumbai has successfully completed its inaugural year, establishing a strong operational base and market presence. With Roswyn set to debut as India’s first Morgans Originals property, he described the next phase as one of growth, innovation, and brand differentiation aimed at appealing to modern, globally minded travellers.

Prior to Mumbai, Kapoor spent five years at Fairmont Jaipur, where he played a key role in repositioning the property through operational innovation and enhanced guest experiences. His leadership earned him accolades including General Manager of the Year – Upscale to Luxe at the Accor South Asia Hotel Awards 2021 and General Manager of the Year – Luxury Hotels Segment at the HOSI 2022 Hotelivate MakeMyTrip Awards.

Over the course of his career, Kapoor has led luxury resorts across Asia, building expertise in cross-cultural service delivery, brand positioning, and operational excellence. His international exposure enables him to align global standards with local nuance — a key advantage in a dynamic market like Mumbai.

With this appointment, Fairmont Mumbai and Roswyn enter a new phase of integrated leadership focused on sustained growth, operational precision, and long-term brand relevance.
