IHG signs Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, marking entry into Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province

IHG® Hotels & Resorts signs a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel scheduled to open in Q1 2028. The signing marks IHG’s entry into Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province and reflects the company’s strategy to expand into high-potential, underserved markets across South Asia.

Located in the heart of Dhangadhi within a mixed-use development, the hotel will be approximately 8.5 kilometres from Dhangadhi Airport and close to the India–Nepal border. Its strategic location positions it to serve business travellers, government officials, transit guests and leisure visitors exploring attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake and Shivpuri Temple.

Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will feature 115 guestrooms, four food and beverage outlets including an all-day dining restaurant, pool bar and specialty restaurant, as well as meeting and event spaces, a ballroom, a fitness centre and a swimming pool.

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said the project reflects confidence in Dhangadhi’s growth, driven by improving infrastructure, cross-border trade and rising domestic travel. Dr. Rajendra K.C., Chairman, Club Chaulani Ltd., added that the partnership brings globally trusted hospitality standards to a fast-growing regional hub.

The signing strengthens IHG’s South Asia expansion, reinforcing its focus on introducing globally recognised brands to emerging destinations. IHG® currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India, with a pipeline of 80 hotels set to open over the next three to five years.
