MGallery Collection invites locals and travelers to immerse themselves in the artistic and cultural heritage of Asia with a series of events and activations in Thailand, South Korea, Philippines, Indonesia and Japan.
Since 1985, the beloved Heritage Days annual festival sees the opening of privately-owned historic sites, monuments, and landmarks to the public, welcoming all to explore and marvel at Asia’s rich culture and history. This year, six properties celebrate the festivities across Asia.
In Indonesia, guests are invited to step into the living history of Hotel Majapahit Surabaya – MGallery Collection with a “Heritage Hotel Tour & High Tea” experience in September. Highlighting the architecture, hidden corners and stories of this famous Art Deco property, from its opening in 1910 to the present day, this tour will feel like a journey through time. The hotel’s evolution will be traced alongside Surabaya’s own transition from a bustling colonial port to a modern metropolis, through photographs, personal tales, hotel memorabilia, historical maps and more. A Heritage Day art exhibition, running until 30th November, also features work by local artist Goedang Loekisan, which can be combined with a hotel package and high tea experience. In addition, on 27th September, the “Sunset Echoes” picnic and piano concert will be staged in the hotel’s fragrant garden.
Join Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong – MGallery Collection on 29th September to learn about Phuket’s time-honoured rituals, flavours and performances. Overlooking the Andaman Sea on the island’s scenic west coast, this boutique retreat is inspired by the elegance of Thailand’s Sukhothai Kingdom. For Heritage Days 2026, visitors will be welcomed with the traditional sound of a khim – a Thai stringed instrument – before engaging in a lotus-folding activity, enjoying palm-leaf weaving and Thai calligraphy workshops, and tasting a series of bite-sized regional specialties. As the evening unfolds, heritage takes centre stage with a performance of Khon, Thailand’s UNESCO-recognised masked show, which brings together graceful movements, martial arts and music, culminating with a thrilling Thai fire dance.
On 21st September, Avista Grande Phuket Karon – MGallery Collection invites guests to celebrate Heritage Days 2026 with a “Dive Into a Living Collection of Stories” – a series of experiences that showcase Phuket’s Peranakan culture. This vibrant occasion will captivate visitors with a traditional dance performance, a runway fashion show featuring authentic costumes and an exhibition of Southern Thai artists, accompanied with locally-inspired drinks. Couples can come together and taste the essence of Peranakan-style cuisine with a Phuket Afternoon Tea, and as the sun sets over the coast, casting golden rays across the sky, guests can settle in for a movie night showing The Tin Mine, a film that reveals the industry that defined Phuket.
Visitors to Seoul can feel the artistic spirit that flows through the Korean capital at Hotel Naru Seoul – MGallery Collection – a striking icon in the heart of the city. For Heritage Days 2026, immersive art tours will highlight original works by contemporary artists such as Haegue Yang, Choi Jeong Hwa, Park SeoBo, Ha ChongHyun, Kwon Youngwoo, and Kang Seokyung – and the stories behind them. Guided by the knowledgeable concierge, the tour starts at the 20th floor lobby and transports guests through the hotel, revealing unique and intriguing views along the way. Concluding with a signature cocktail, inspired by the Han River, this exploration lets travellers discover the hotel’s rich Korean heritage through its art, spaces and scenery.
Set among coconut groves just steps from the turquoise sea, South Palms Resort & Spa Panglao – MGallery Collection is a tropical sanctuary that showcases the natural and cultural heritage of Bohol, Explorers can discover one of the world’s rarest ingredients: asin tibuok, the artisanal sea salt which can only be found on this Philippine island. Guided by a skilled craftsperson, this original M Moment lets guests learn about the centuries-old process of making asin tibuok, which is slowly extracted from seawater using coconut husks. A pottery class will let visitors make their own clay pot to hold the salt crystals, then take home and treasure as a souvenir. Unavailable anywhere else in the world, this is a wonderful way to connect with the ancient spirit of Bohol, while also supporting artisans in the local community.
Hotel Sosei Sapporo – MGallery Collection, the post-industrial boutique hotel which sits on the site of the 1876 Kaitakushi Brewery, will immerse guests in the history of Japan’s northern metropolis with tours of two iconic local landmarks: the Sapporo Clock Tower and Hoheikan, the elegant former hotel built by the Meiji government. Constructed in the late 1800s, shortly after the founding of Sapporo, these two buildings have become symbols of the city. By touring these monuments, visitors will discover the architectural features and influences that shaped Sapporo, before returning to unwind at the hotel, which was previously named on the “World’s Most Beautiful Hotels List” by Prix Versailles.
