The Telangana government has announced a new initiative to encourage visitors to extend their stays in the state, as part of its effort to strengthen Telangana’s position as a premier tourism destination. Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao highlighted the plan during a workshop organised by the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation, stressing the need to enhance visitor experiences and promote longer visits.
The initiative, dubbed the “stay-in” tourism model, aims to motivate tourists to spend at least 48 hours exploring Telangana’s diverse attractions. Measures include improving accommodation standards, providing multilingual tour guide services, showcasing cultural performances, and offering immersive rural and tribal experiences that highlight the state’s heritage and traditions.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao emphasized that aligning with international hospitality standards and offering well-designed travel packages will not only improve visitor satisfaction but also boost tourism revenue, support local businesses, and generate employment across the region. The approach aligns with Telangana’s broader vision of becoming a globally recognised tourism destination while preserving its cultural identity.
The initiative underlines Telangana’s commitment to innovation in tourism development and enhancing its competitiveness as global travel trends evolve.
