Following an extensive renovation, The Vineta Hotel, Palm Beach has officially reopened its doors, joining Oetker Hotels’ renowned family of Masterpiece Hotels worldwide. The transformation included a complete redesign of the hotel’s public spaces along with its 41 guest rooms and suites, led by internationally acclaimed interior designer Tino Zervudachi and realized through his firm ZRM in collaboration with architects Spina O’Rourke & Partners.
Marking a major milestone for the brand, the opening represents Oetker Hotels’ first Masterpiece Hotel in the United States, bringing the group’s distinctive blend of refined luxury, family spirit, and exceptional hospitality to the iconic destination of Palm Beach.
Timo Gruenert, CEO of Oetker Hotels, described the opening as a significant moment in the brand’s history, noting that many loyal guests already visit or call Palm Beach home. He added that the brand looks forward to extending its unique hospitality philosophy, rooted in elegance and genuine warmth, to this exceptional destination through The Vineta Hotel.
Jamie Reuben of Reuben Brothers also expressed excitement about the hotel’s opening, sharing that Palm Beach holds a special place for his family and that with Oetker Hotels’ refined approach to luxury hospitality, The Vineta is expected to become a landmark property in the area for generations to come.
Design: European Elegance Meets Palm Beach Luminosity
The Vineta’s architecture reflects the Mediterranean Revival style that defines much of Palm Beach’s historic charm. Tino Zervudachi’s design concept blends European elegance with the bright, airy spirit of Palm Beach, introducing whimsical elements such as wave motifs, palm prints, feather patterns, and star-inspired details.
The hotel’s 41 rooms and suites have been designed to evoke calm and understated luxury, featuring elegant linen prints, white and blue color palettes, soothing natural tones, and warm honey accents. Venetian-inspired details, including terrazzo flooring, custom Venetian plaster walls, classical moldings, and 1930s-style plaster reliefs, further enhance the design narrative.
According to Zervudachi, the interiors balance clean lines, layered textures, and harmonious colors to create a refined yet playful Palm Beach setting that reflects both tradition and modern sophistication.
Culinary Experiences
The hotel’s signature indoor-outdoor restaurant, Coco’s, is led by Executive Chef Brian Rodriguez and celebrates authentic Mediterranean cuisine. The menu also introduces a unique culinary collaboration with sister property Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, with signature dishes curated in partnership with Executive Chef Sébastien Broda and Pastry Chef Tarek Ahamada.
Highlights include classic favorites such as Steak Diane and Eden Roc Sea Bass, alongside seafood specialties like Mediterranean red prawn carpaccio, crudo du jour, and the Vineta seafood tower. Guests can also enjoy dishes ranging from grilled Maine lobster and risotto Ossobuco to house-made tagliatelle with creamy truffle sauce.
The vibrant dining space features coral hues, lush greenery, and a striking red Italian marble bar. Outside, a bougainvillea-filled courtyard framed by restored original iron gates offers an elegant alfresco setting.
The Vineta Bar presents a bold design with bespoke fabrics from Pierre Frey Le Manach and plum marble tables. Its cocktail concept, Pan’s Garden, highlights botanical flavors inspired by native wildflowers, complemented by Mediterranean-style small plates.
Poolside Living
The Pool House bistro captures retro glamour with intricate trellis work and scalloped detailing. Guests can enjoy relaxed poolside dining featuring Giovanni’s signature pizzas, raw bar selections like tuna tartare tacos and seabream ceviche, and Mediterranean favorites including Jamón Ibérico with pa amb tomàquet, fresh salads, and garden crudités.
The hotel’s pool itself stands as a centerpiece, featuring bespoke mosaic patterns and a custom shell-shaped ladder inspired by Palm Beach architecture. Surrounded by lush landscaping and luxurious pool beds, it creates a tranquil oasis in the heart of town.
Guests can also stay active with in-room workout equipment, poolside yoga sessions, and personal training options. The hotel’s unique “À La Cart” concept brings curated treats and experiences directly to guests through custom bar carts offering Champagne, beauty products, and other surprises.
For beach lovers, The Vineta provides a bespoke oceanside setup just steps from the hotel, offering guests a seamless Palm Beach experience.
A Legacy Renewed
As part of its debut, Oetker Hotels has revived the historic Vineta name, celebrating the property’s century-long legacy. Originally opened in 1926 as the Lido-Venice during Palm Beach’s real estate boom, the hotel was soon renamed The Vineta and carried the name for over fifty years.
After briefly becoming a condominium in the 1980s, the property reopened as The Chesterfield in 1989 before closing in 2022. Its latest transformation now restores the Vineta identity while introducing a new era of luxury hospitality.
Emanuela Setteberg Di Vivo, Managing Director of The Vineta Hotel, Palm Beach, noted that the restoration honors the property’s history while introducing modern refinement. She added that the hotel invites guests to experience Palm Beach in an intimate, elegant setting that feels both timeless and entirely new.
