TU Leoben delegation visits Delhi to strengthen Indo-Austria education ties through VFS Education Services partnership

A high-level delegation from the Technical University of Leoben (Montanuniversität Leoben), Austria, visited New Delhi on 7 February 2026 to advance Indo-Austrian cooperation in higher education, research and academic mobility, through a strategic partnership with VFS Education Services. The visit formed part of TU Leoben and TU Austria’s ‘Focus India’ initiative, aimed at educating future-ready professionals and strengthening Austria’s industrial competitiveness.

Led by Ms. Susanne Feiel, Director International Relations and European University, and Mr. Clemens Weihs, Team Lead Strategic Partnerships, the 30-member delegation engaged with Indian academic institutions, education stakeholders and policymakers to explore opportunities for deeper collaboration. During the visit, the delegation also unveiled the new VFS Education Services corporate brochure, showcasing its expanded role in facilitating international education pathways.

The partnership has already delivered strong results, with around 60 students enrolled for the March 2026 intake at TU Leoben and approximately 100 enrolments currently in progress for the October 2026 batch. The initiative supports talented Indian engineering and technology students through structured access to Austria’s leading technical universities, while contributing to Austria’s skilled workforce needs.

The programme offers a two-year Master’s degree combining academic learning with industry exposure, on-campus placement support and eligibility for a one-year post-study visa extension. VFS Education Services further supports students through a digital admissions platform, providing end-to-end guidance from application to pre-departure, reinforcing its commitment to seamless, student-centric international education facilitation.
