Türkiye strengthens tourism ties with India at SATTE Delhi 2026

Türkiye made a strong impression at SATTE Delhi 2026, India’s premier travel and tourism exhibition held at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in New Delhi. Turkish hoteliers and destination management companies representing a range of destinations across the country actively engaged with India’s leading tour operators, travel professionals, and industry stakeholders, facilitating productive B2B meetings and reinforcing Türkiye’s commitment to strengthening tourism ties with the Indian market.

The country’s participation was led by a distinguished high-level delegation that included H.E. Ambassador Ali Murat Ersoy, Ms. Başak Önsal Demir, Counsellor for Culture and Tourism Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Kaan Kavaloğlu, President of the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operations Association and CEO of Limak International Hotels, and Mr. Murtaza Kalender, President of the Istanbul Tourism Association and Founder of TravelShop DMC.

A dedicated Türkiye Destination Promotion Panel further highlighted the country’s tourism offerings, providing Indian travel trade partners with insights into Türkiye’s diverse travel experiences across leisure, luxury, weddings, and MICE segments. The discussion also placed a special spotlight on key destinations such as Istanbul and Antalya.

Speakers during the panel emphasized Türkiye’s strong positioning in the Indian outbound travel market, highlighting the country’s unique blend of culture, heritage, natural landscapes, gastronomy, and luxury hospitality.

Addressing the international tourism exhibition, Ambassador Ali Murat Ersoy stated that Türkiye has evolved into a global tourism powerhouse. He shared that the country welcomed a record 64 million visitors in 2025 and generated $65 billion in tourism revenue, underscoring its ability to deliver a rich and diverse travel experience—from the ancient heritage of Göbeklitepe and the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia to the vibrant lifestyle destinations of Bodrum.

Ambassador Ersoy also highlighted the strong cultural connections between Türkiye and India, noting that the relationship extends beyond tourism and trade to shared values such as art, spirituality, craftsmanship, and hospitality. He pointed to the growing interest among Indian travellers in discovering Türkiye, driven by the desire for immersive and meaningful travel experiences.

He further emphasized Türkiye’s robust tourism infrastructure, accessibility, and world-class event management capabilities, positioning the country as an attractive destination for both leisure travel and business events.

Türkiye’s participation at SATTE 2026 reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Indian travel market, with a focus on building stronger trade partnerships, enhancing destination awareness, and showcasing a wide portfolio of experiences for Indian travellers.
