Vietjet Thailand joins Phuket’s historic first-ever Ganesh Chaturthi Festival, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to strengthening the cultural and tourism bridge between India and Thailand. With its direct service connecting Mumbai and Phuket, Vietjet Thailand is playing a key role in making Phuket more accessible for Indian travelers to experience its festivals, traditions, and natural beauty.
Phuket Old Town came alive with vibrant colors, devotional music, and festive celebrations as more than 10,000 people gathered for the island’s first Ganesh Chaturthi Festival procession. Following the recent completion of a magnificent Lord Ganesh Temple in Rawai, the streets were adorned with 200,000 fresh flowers and filled with the sounds of traditional Dhol Tasha drum parades, devotional dances, and heartfelt offerings. Echoing the grand festivities seen in India while introducing a new cultural dimension to Phuket, the event brought Thai and Indian communities together in a spirit of unity and devotion.
The Ganesh Chaturthi Festival not only symbolised cultural harmony but also underscored Phuket’s growing importance as a top destination for Indian travelers. Vietjet Thailand plays a vital role in this connection, with its direct flights between Mumbai and Phuket making it easier than ever for visitors from India to experience the island’s vibrant celebrations, unique traditions, and world-renowned hospitality.
Vietjet Thailand currently operates direct flights between Mumbai and Phuket four times per week. During the summer schedule from 14 August to 25 October 2025, flight VZ763 departs Mumbai at 02:05 and arrives in Phuket at 08:20, with the return flight VZ762 departing Phuket at 22:10 and arriving in Mumbai at 01:05 the following day. For the winter season from 26 October 2025 to 28 March 2026, VZ763 departs Mumbai at 01:30 and arrives in Phuket at 07:30, with the return flight VZ762 departing Phuket at 21:15 and arriving in Mumbai at 00:30 the following day.
In addition to Mumbai-Phuket, Vietjet Thailand currently operates direct flights between Mumbai and Bangkok, providing further options for Indian travelers. With India becoming an increasingly important market, Vietjet Thailand has launched new services connecting Ahmedabad to Bangkok starting 4 December 2025 and Kolkata to Bangkok from 17 November 2025, providing Indian travelers with even more convenient access to Thailand’s destinations.
