Bintan Resorts and Travstarz Global Group strengthen destination presence through strategic outreach in India

From the royal streets of Jaipur to the cultural charm of Lucknow and the vibrant energy of Indore, Bintan Resorts, in collaboration with Travstarz Global Group, recently concluded a series of trade workshops across India’s emerging outbound markets.
Conducted from June 11th to 13th 2025, the initiative was part of a broader strategy to build stronger relationships with the travel trade and position Bintan as a preferred island destination for Indian travellers.
The workshops conducted by Shakambri Soni from VFS Global – Tourism Services, Bintan Resorts’ strategic partner in India, showcased the destination’s diverse offerings for various travel cohorts. The sessions were facilitated by Travstarz Global Group, a multi-award-winning outbound DMC, wholesaler and consolidator offering exclusive B2B services in the travel and tourism industry.
Structured as evening events, each session brought together over 35 high-performing travel agents, hand-picked for their influence in cities where relationship-based travel planning still plays a pivotal role.
Through detailed destination presentations, agents were introduced to Bintan’s wide-ranging of offerings – from serene beaches and luxury resorts to outdoor adventures, golf courses and its convenient 60-minute ferry access from Singapore. The sessions highlighted how Bintan naturally fits into Southeast Asia itineraries and appeals to a wide range of travellers, including families, honeymooners, leisure seekers and MICE groups.
Abdul Wahab, Chief Operating Officer, Bintan Resorts, said, “India’s evolving travel hubs are playing an increasingly influential role in outbound tourism and it was essential for us to engage directly with the travel trade in these cities. The workshops provided an opportunity to have meaningful face-to-face conversations with agents, better understand their expectations and present Bintan as a destination that seamlessly fits into broader Southeast Asia itineraries – offering both accessibility and enriching travel experiences.”
Sucheta Nagpal, Director & CEO, Travstarz Global Group, added, “We have seen firsthand how demand from India’s emerging markets has matured. Travellers from these markets are now actively seeking premium, offbeat and accessible international destinations. Introducing Bintan to our agent network through focused, on- ground interactions helped build confidence and interest. The strong turnout and engagement in all three cities speak volumes about the potential of these markets.”
The initiative is being viewed as a significant step towards expanding Bintan Resorts’ presence in India and is expected to lead to long-term trade partnerships and increased travel interest from these fast-growing outbound markets.
