Virgin Atlantic increases London Heathrow–Bengaluru services to 11 flights per week

Virgin Atlantic announces an increase in services between London Heathrow and Bengaluru (Bangalore), raising frequencies from seven to 11 flights per week during January, February and March 2026. The enhanced schedule reflects strong customer demand and further strengthens air connectivity between the UK and India, while also improving onward connections to North America.

The additional flights will supplement Virgin Atlantic’s existing daily service to Bengaluru, which was launched in March 2024 for both passenger and cargo operations. India continues to be the airline’s largest growth market outside the United States, and the expanded Bengaluru schedule complements Virgin Atlantic’s double daily services from London Heathrow to Delhi and Mumbai.

The increased frequency also builds on Virgin Atlantic’s partnership with IndiGo, enabling seamless connections to 33 destinations across India, including Goa, Amritsar and Jaipur. Bengaluru, widely recognised as the Silicon Valley of India, is a major technology and corporate hub, making it one of the airline’s most important business markets in the country.

The strengthened service will enhance connectivity between Bengaluru and the UK while offering smooth onward travel via London Heathrow to key North American cities such as Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco and New York JFK. These connections are supported by Virgin Atlantic’s transatlantic joint venture with Delta Air Lines.

Flights on the Bengaluru route are operated using Virgin Atlantic’s Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, featuring 31 Upper Class, 35 Premium and 192 Economy seats, along with the airline’s signature Upper Class social space.

Since 2019, Virgin Atlantic has increased its capacity to India by 250 per cent and now offers more than 500,000 seats annually between the UK and India.

Commenting on the announcement, Juha Jaervinen, Chief Commercial Officer, Virgin Atlantic, said the airline is pleased to strengthen its Bengaluru service in response to demand and reaffirm its long-term commitment to India. He added that the enhanced schedule provides greater choice for travellers between Bengaluru and the UK, along with improved connectivity to North America through partnerships with Delta Air Lines and WestJet.
