The North East India Tourism Confederation (NEITC) announces that it will organise the National Tourism Convention & FAM Tour from March 13 to March 18, 2026, with the objective of promoting North East India as a premier tourism destination.
The six-day initiative is designed to showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and growing potential for adventure, experiential and community-based tourism. The event will also aim to strengthen tourism linkages between the North East and other parts of the country, positioning the region as a unified and integrated tourism brand.
The convention will bring together tour operators, travel agencies, media professionals, digital influencers and key tourism stakeholders from across India. Participants will engage in interactive sessions, networking meets and destination presentations, followed by curated familiarisation tours across select North Eastern states to experience the region first-hand.
Addressing a press conference in Guwahati, E.B. Blah, President, NEITC, emphasised that the convention will serve as a catalyst for meaningful collaborations and long-term growth opportunities for tourism stakeholders. He highlighted the immense untapped potential of the region and stressed the importance of such platforms in integrating the North East into the national tourism mainstream.
Tsering Wange, Convention Chairman, NEITC, said, “The National Tourism Convention & FAM Tour is designed to present the North East as a single, integrated tourism destination. Through this event, we aim to bring together key stakeholders from across India to experience the region first-hand, build strong industry partnerships, and highlight the immense tourism potential of our states. We are confident that this initiative will create new opportunities for collaboration and position the North East more prominently on the national tourism map.”
NEITC has extended invitations to tourism professionals, travel writers, digital creators and industry representatives nationwide. The event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, along with various state governments of the North East.
