Dusit Thani Kyoto, a refined urban sanctuary blending Thai-inspired hospitality with Japan’s tradition of omotenashi, has been awarded two Four-Star Ratings in the 2026 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards. The hotel received a Four-Star Rating for the overall hotel experience for the second consecutive year, while its integrated wellness offering, Devarana Wellness, earned a Four-Star Rating for the first time.

Opened in September 2023 as Dusit’s first luxury property in Japan, Dusit Thani Kyoto offers a serene urban retreat with design-led spaces, personalised service, and a focus on well-being and sustainability. Its wellness and culinary experiences combine Thai traditions with Japanese culture, including Kōyō’s omakase dining inspired by Kyoto’s micro-seasons and Ayatana’s signature Thai cuisine. Guests can also enjoy immersive experiences like visits to Ohara Farm and the hotel’s own tea farm in Wazuka.
“This recognition reflects the progress our team has made in delivering service that feels thoughtful and personal across both the hotel stay and our wellness experience,” said Makoto Yamashita. “For us, modern luxury is about care, cultural understanding, and creating experiences that feel effortless and genuinely welcoming.”
Dusit Thani Kyoto’s accolades build on prior recognition, including Michelin Key distinctions in 2025 and 2026 and a ranking among Japan’s Best City Hotels at the Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2025. The group continues its expansion in Japan with WE Hotel Lake Toya – Dusit Collection, offering design-led luxury overlooking Lake Toya under the Dusit Collection brand.
