Novotel Ahmedabad announces the appointment of Nikhil Chandra as its new General Manager. With over two decades of experience in the hospitality industry, Chandra brings extensive operational expertise, commercial insight, and strategic leadership to the role.
Throughout his career, Chandra has worked with several globally recognised hospitality brands, including Accor, Hilton, InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Radisson Hotel Group, and The Lalit Group. He has consistently demonstrated the ability to drive business performance while building strong teams and sustainable operational models.
Prior to joining Novotel Ahmedabad, Chandra served as General Manager at Grand Mercure Ahmedabad GIFT City, where he guided the property through a period of strategic growth and consolidation. His leadership focused on revenue optimisation, operational efficiencies, enhanced yield management, and strengthening the hotel’s food and beverage offerings. During his tenure, he also introduced new dining concepts within a regulated environment while ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and reinforcing brand standards to enhance guest experiences.
Earlier in his career, Chandra held leadership roles across several prominent properties, including The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar, Crowne Plaza Delhi Mayur Vihar, and DoubleTree by Hilton Gurgaon. In these roles, he contributed significantly to strengthening banquet and event operations, improving guest engagement metrics, enhancing audit performance, and maintaining transparent communication with ownership and regulatory stakeholders.
A certified General Manager through IHG’s Career Insight – GM Potential Program, Chandra is known for championing brand standards, advancing revenue management strategies, and developing high-performing teams. His leadership approach focuses on collaboration, accountability, and the ability to anticipate market trends to position hotels for long-term success.
In his new role at Novotel Ahmedabad, Chandra will focus on strengthening the hotel’s market presence across corporate, MICE, and social segments. His strategic priorities include diversifying revenue streams, enhancing digital and direct booking channels, elevating service delivery standards, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and implementing sustainable operational practices aligned with Accor’s global vision. He will also prioritise talent development and guest-centric innovation to ensure the hotel continues to adapt to the evolving hospitality landscape.
