ITC Hotels Limited to expand in the North-East with 90-key Fortune Select, Guwahati

ITC Hotels Limited announces the signing of a 90-room Fortune Select in Guwahati, Assam. This agreement accelerates the company’s expansion into India’s high-growth markets, establishing its premier presence in Guwahati, a premier city and a primary gateway for regional commerce and travel in the Northeast.

Set to open in April 2028, this hotel will offer well-appointed rooms, an all-day dining restaurant, banquet and conferencing facilities, and a range of amenities designed to serve the evolving needs of modern travellers.

Commenting on the alliance, Anil Chadha, Managing Director, ITC Hotels Limited, said,
“Guwahati is an exceptionally attractive market. It has an evolving business environment with equally interesting leisure spaces. We look forward to meeting the region’s growing appetite for quality branded stays and delighting the city with our signature hospitality.”

Guwahati attracts a steady influx of travellers as the state capital, Dispur, is a suburb of Guwahati. It also serves as a base for tourists visiting prominent destinations such as the Kamakhya Temple and wildlife hotspots, including Kaziranga National Park, besides heritage sites of prominence like Hajo and Madan Kamdev temple, a 10th-century archaeological ruins site known as the “Khajuraho of the North-East”.

With continuous advancements in multimodal connectivity via air, rail, and road and rapid infrastructure development, Guwahati is witnessing a sustained rise in demand for hospitality, making it an attractive destination for hotel development.

The signing reflects Fortune Hotels’ continued focus on expanding its presence in high-growth markets across India, offering guests a blend of contemporary comfort and efficient service.
