The policy think tank emphasised the importance of addressing regulatory challenges, improving ease of doing business, and creating a more supportive ecosystem for investments in the hotel sector.
The recommendations focus on streamlining approvals, encouraging private sector participation, and enhancing collaboration between central and state governments to support tourism infrastructure growth.
With India witnessing rising domestic and international travel demand, NITI Aayog noted that increasing hotel capacity and improving tourism infrastructure will be crucial to unlocking the sector’s full economic potential and creating employment opportunities.
