The spirit of reggae comes alive with Dancehall Music at The Residence Mauritius this summer spotlighting a new music festival collaboration with one of the island’s leading music event organiser, Telfairian. Following its successful Mystik Festival event in February, The Residence Mauritius takes centre stage once more in partnership with Telfairian in bringing an exciting line up of internationally acclaimed artists through a series of exclusive musical events to the Mauritian shores throughout 2025.
Experience the excitement and energy of AFRO BROS in a beachfront music festival scheduled for 28 June, running from 2pm to 11pm. The event will showcase five esteemed DJs, including the Netherlands’ own Giordano Ashruf and Rashid Badloe, collectively known as the “Afro Bros,” a Latin Grammy-nominated DJ/Producers duo based in The Netherlands. Their most significant success, which has also received a nomination at the Latin Grammy, is the collaboration between Nicky Jam and J Balvin titled “X.” This track has achieved an impressive milestone, amassing 2 billion views on YouTube and surpassing 900 million streams on Spotify. In 2019, they launched two major singles: “Instagram,” in collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, Daddy Yankee, and Natti Natasha, which garnered over 200 million streams, and “Boomshakalaka” featuring Sebastian Yatra and others. This exceptional lineup promises an unforgettable musical experience by the beach as the sun gracefully sets.
We are excited to be able to continue on this providing our guests and visitors with an unforgettable island party experience amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of Mauritius,” said Jean-François Chong, General Manager, The Residence Mauritius. “An immersive, vibrant celebration atmosphere of music and culture; this collaboration as preferred hotel partner enables us to connect with our spirited new guests, particularly the Gen Zs and millennials, he added.
Mauritius is establishing itself as a premier destination for island music festivals from Dancehall, Latin, House, Reggaeton and luxury tourism. Music tourism is poised to thrive this year, with The Residence Mauritius setting the precedence now into its second music festival event for 2025. The organisers anticipate an attendance ranging from 1,200 to 1,500 enthusiasts of dancehall, house, techno, and other music genres.
