Air India expands domestic network for Winter 2026 with new flights to Khajuraho, Jaisalmer and increased connectivity to Gaya

Air India today announces enhancements to its domestic route network, effective from the Northern Winter Schedule 2026, aimed at strengthening connectivity to some of India’s most iconic heritage and spiritual destinations.

Starting 25 October 2026, the airline will operate daily flights to Khajuraho, linking the city with Delhi and Varanasi. The new services are designed to improve access for travellers looking to explore Khajuraho, renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed temples, and Varanasi, widely regarded as the spiritual heart of India, within a single itinerary.

The flights will operate daily on a triangular circuit with alternating routings. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the routing will be Delhi–Khajuraho–Varanasi–Delhi, while on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays the service will operate Delhi–Varanasi–Khajuraho–Delhi. This schedule offers flexible travel options and allows passengers to plan visits based on their preferred order of destinations.

The Delhi–Khajuraho–Varanasi circuit has emerged as a popular route for travellers seeking deeper immersion in India’s spiritual and artistic heritage, combining Varanasi’s historic ghats and ancient lanes with the medieval temple architecture of Khajuraho.

In addition, Air India will launch a new seasonal non-stop daily service between Mumbai and Jaisalmer starting 25 October 2026. The new route will complement the airline’s existing daily Delhi–Jaisalmer flights and provide travellers from western India with direct access to the popular desert destination during the peak winter tourism season.

The airline will also increase frequency on the Delhi–Gaya route by adding an additional daily service. With both morning and afternoon departures in each direction, the expanded schedule will offer greater convenience and flexibility for passengers.

The newly scheduled flights are also timed to provide seamless onward connections for international travellers arriving in India from destinations across Europe, Southeast Asia and the Far East, including cities such as London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo. This enhanced connectivity is expected to strengthen the presence of Khajuraho, Varanasi and Gaya on international travel itineraries while supporting tourism growth across these culturally significant destinations.
