Discover the World – India announces the appointment of Mr. Gaurav Bhatura as Director – Aviation, India. In his new role, Gaurav will lead airline representation, business development, and market growth initiatives for Discover the World and its airline clients across the Indian market.
With nearly 25 years of experience in the aviation sector, Gaurav brings deep expertise spanning global airlines, airport marketing, aviation regulatory affairs, and commercial leadership. His appointment strengthens Discover the World’s commitment to driving strategic growth and delivering high-impact representation services in India.
Prior to joining Discover the World, Gaurav served as Vice President and Business Head at Balmer Lawrie, where he led a nationwide team and successfully delivered significant revenue growth. He also held the position of Country Head and Director at Thai Smile Airways, during which he launched airline operations across seven Indian gateways.
His professional journey includes senior leadership roles with InterGlobe, GMR–Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Singapore Airlines, and KLM. In addition, he brings extensive experience in airline representation across multiple regions, making him well positioned to support international carriers entering or expanding in the Indian market.
An alumnus of IIM Lucknow, Gaurav is widely regarded as a respected industry mentor and is known for building strong trade partnerships and enabling successful market entry and sustainable growth for airline brands in India.
