COEX Aquarium, is rebranded as “SEA LIFE COEX, Seoul” to provide its guests a world class experience in the heart of Korea – Gangnam District, Seoul.
The SEAL IFE COEX Aquarium is one of largest aquariums in Korea, holding a total of 3,000 tons of water and housing more than 180 immersive marine exhibits, 40,000 aquatic species, showcasing the incredible diversity of aquatic life: from mountain springs to the Amazonian rainforest. The rebranding complements Merlin’s already existing expertise in running SEA LIFE aquariums to create amazing experiences that educate and inspire current and future generations to care for the world’s waters and global marine wildlife. SEA LIFE COEX, Seoul Aquarium delivers touching storytelling to customers through the coexistence of marine life, people, and culture.
Through its rebranding, SEA LIFE COEX Aquarium will sequentially introduce new themed zones, including the Starlight Sea, Seal Beach, and Seahorse’s Secret Garden. In particular, the Ocean Exploration Ship, a first for a Seoul aquarium, and content combining marine life and media art are expected to provide visitors with a richer experience.
The event included a renewal briefing, an opening ribbon-cutting ceremony, a tour of the new theme zones, and an experience on the “Glass Bottom Boat,” where visitors can cruise through the tanks on a transparent-bottom boat.
Stephen Lee, General Manager of SEA LIFE COEX, Seoul Aquarium, stated that: “Through repeated innovation based on the spirit of challenge and creativity, it is an aquarium that has received much attention as a tourist attraction in Korea. It houses the nation’s largest shark kingdom, a penguin feeding session, and the launch of the world’s first character underwater performance”.
