Indiatourism Delhi celebrates International Day of Yoga 2025 at Qutub Minar Complex, New Delhi

Indiatourism Delhi, under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, successfully organized a grand celebration of the International Day of Yoga 2025 with a Mass Yoga Session at the Sun Dial Lawns of the Qutub Minar Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The event was held from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, aligning with this year’s global theme:
“Yoga for One Earth, One Health / एक पृथ्वी, एक स्वास्थ्य के लिए योग.”
The theme emphasized the interdependence between humanity and nature, positioning Yoga as a vital tool for holistic well-being and environmental harmony.
The celebration was honored by the presence of distinguished guests, including:
• Shri Gajendra Singh Yadav, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA)
• Shri Lakshay Singhal, IAS, District Magistrate, South Delhi
• Ms. Priyanga Wickramasinghe, Deputy High Commissioner, Embassy of Sri Lanka
• Ms. Wathsala Amarasinghe, Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Sri Lanka
• Senior officials from Ministry of Tourism
Highlights of the Programme:
Renowned Yoga Instructor Shri Gopal Rishi from Sukrit Wellness and team. They guided participants through a thoughtfully designed sequence of Yogic postures and Pranayama techniques. Shri Rishi also addressed the audience, underlining Yoga’s significance in fostering mental, physical, and spiritual harmony.
Around 400 participants joined the celebration, including:
• Members of IATO, ADTOI, and TAAI
• Regional Level Tourist Guides and Yuva Tourism Club students
• Officials from the Archaeological Survey of India
• Faculty and students of Institutes of Hotel Management Pusa(IHMs)
• Local residents and Ministry of Tourism officials
The event commenced with a welcome address by the Regional Director (North), followed by an address from the Hon’ble MLA. Participants also witnessed the live streaming of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address, which served as an inspiring moment during the session.
To commemorate the occasion T-shirts, Caps and Yoga mats were distributed to all Yoga Participants .Students from IHM introduced the programme and shared valuable insights on how Yoga serves as a bridge between culture, wellness, and tourism.
The event concluded with a warm Vote of Thanks by the Principal of IHM, extending gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and supporting partners. The event radiated an atmosphere of harmony and wellness as all attendees united in the spirit of Yoga, echoing India’s message of peace and universal health.
