Booking.com announces the 10 Most Welcoming Places in India and Earth as part of its 14th Traveller Review Awards, with Himachal Pradesh proudly featured. Powered by over 370 million verified traveller reviews, the awards recognise partners worldwide for exceptional hospitality.
In India, 17,575 travel partners won the 2026 awards, up from 15,674 in 2025. Himachal Pradesh continues to shine as the Most Welcoming Region in India for the third consecutive year, with Bir recognised as the Most Welcoming City. Other top regions include Kerala and Goa, while Mararikulam and Jaisalmer also feature among the most welcoming cities.
Globally, Italy, France, and Spain lead the list of top destinations, while regions like Hidalgo (Mexico), Navarra (Spain), and Sachsen (Germany) are recognised for their outstanding guest experiences.
Award-winning accommodation types in India include hotels (6,650), homestays (2,652), apartments (1,984), resorts (1,338), and guest houses (1,218). Cities with the highest number of awarded properties are Bengaluru, New Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi, and Kochi.
