Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc launches limited-edition Monopoly Game

For more than 150 years, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, the Oetker Hotels icon on the Côte d’Azur, has been a destination of choice and a haven of relaxed French elegance for generations of guests and visitors. The hotel unveils an original ode to its illustrious history in the form of a custom-created Monopoly game. This collector’s edition of the world’s most famous board game inspires players to gather and rediscover the Hotel du Cap legend around a classic pastime for all ages.

As a precious summer home for the initiated and a hidden gem for newcomers, the property takes centre stage on a board designed to reflect the hotel’s inimitable spirit while preserving the game’s traditional rules. From the Fontaine aux Tortues to the Grande Allée, every square celebrates a place, a service or a chapter of Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc history, while the game’s familiar taxes echo the property’s heritage and commitments.

Memories in Every Detail

With a gameboard celebrating the hotel, its grounds and the famous Grande Allée, the banknotes pay tribute to the property’s other face: Pavillon Eden-Roc. Suspended between sea and sky, the Pavilion is situated adjacent to the iconic infinity pool that was carved into a seaside cliff in 1914.

Six gold-coloured metal tokens honour additional emblems of the hotel, including the Eden-Roc buoy, the Autobianchi Bianchina Eden-Roc, the Queen Elizabeth rose, a director’s chair in a nod to the Cannes Film Festival, tennis racquets and, finally, the principal building, ‘Hôtel du Cap’ itself.

The Chance and Community Chest cards also hold their share of surprises and beloved references, ranging from a private tasting at the hotel’s Michelin-starred restaurant Louroc to, for the luckiest players, a game of pétanque with our President and CEO, Mr Philippe Perd.

An Artist’s Touch

The Eden-Roc Monopoly illustrations, from the board and cards to the banknotes and box, are the work of Haydée Otero, founder of Anisette Design. Formally trained at the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux and based in Nice for more than twenty-five years, the artist creates each piece entirely by hand through a multi-media mix of painting, cutting and collage in a style deeply inspired by the Mediterranean.

Through this collector’s edition Monopoly game, Haydée Otero presents her unique perspective of Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, capturing the elegance of the setting through a rich palette of blues and greens that echo the natural beauty of the landscapes in Cap d’Antibes. This artistic signature lends the game a profound touch of originality and enduring value.

A Limited Collector’s Edition

Produced as a limited edition of only 500 games priced at €280, Eden-Roc Monopoly comes bilingual in French and English. Presented in a collector’s box, the game comprises an illustrated board, six gold-coloured tokens, the Chance and Community Chest cards, Eden-Roc currency, and the essential houses and hotels.

A very special piece for collectors, Eden-Roc Monopoly preserves precious memories of summers on Cap d’Antibes in a universally beloved game, making it the ideal gift.
