International tourism in Philippines reaches 8.67 billion USD

As a result of welcoming more over 5.4 million foreign visitors in 2023, the Philippines’ receipts from international tourism increased to 482.54 billion pesos (8.67 billion US dollars), the Department of Tourism (DOT).

According to Christina Garcia Frasco, the secretary of tourism for the Philippines, 5,450,557 foreign tourists entered the nation between January 1 and December 31, 2023. 91.8 percent of the foreign arrivals were foreigners, with the remaining percentage being Filipinos living abroad.

The 4.8 million arrival target set for the Philippines for 2023 was surpassed.

“The year 2023 is a win for the Philippine tourism industry as it welcomed more than 5 million international visitor arrivals,” Frasco stated.
