Intrepid Travel appoints Yalamber Rai as Country General Manager for Intrepid DMC Nepal, effective 1 April 2025.
Yalamber brings over 15 years of experience in the adventure travel sector and has been with Intrepid for three years, having most recently served as Operations Manager. During this time, he has played a pivotal role in strengthening safety protocols, improving operational systems, and supported in building a high-performing and inclusive team culture.
His appointment follows the recent promotion of Ashish Verma to Regional General Manager for North & South Asia, overseeing Nepal, India and China. Ashish said: “Yalamber’s commitment to responsible travel, operational excellence and people-first leadership makes him the ideal appointee to guide our Nepal operations forward.”
As General Manager, Yalamber will lead a team of 59 and oversee the delivery of hundreds of trips annually. In 2024, Intrepid welcomed more than 3,500 travellers to Nepal.
“I’m incredibly proud to step into this role and continue building on our strong foundations in Nepal, delivering meaningful travel experiences that support our communities and showcase the best of this country,” Yalamber said.
This leadership appointment forms part of Intrepid’s broader 2030 strategy to serve over 600,000 travellers per year, with Asia playing a key role in scaling purpose-led travel.
