Japan visa applicants in West India can walk in without appointments from June 1

VFS Global announces that applicants applying for Japan visas under its West India jurisdiction will be allowed to submit applications through walk-in services without prior appointments starting June 1, 2026.

The move is expected to simplify the visa application process and improve accessibility for travellers planning visits to Japan from western regions of India.

Travel industry experts believe the development could further strengthen outbound travel demand to Japan, particularly across leisure tourism, business travel, student movement, and MICE travel segments.

Japan continues witnessing rising interest among Indian travellers due to growing connectivity, cultural tourism appeal, luxury experiences, and increasing promotional outreach within the Indian market.

The simplified visa submission process is also expected to support smoother travel planning ahead of upcoming peak outbound travel seasons.
