LOT Polish Airlines adds Almaty to its Central Asia network

LOT Polish Airlines, expands operations to Almaty, Kazakhstan, starting 31 May 2026. The airline will operate Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with two service classes, flying four times a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday) from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW). During the winter schedule, flights will operate three times weekly.

Almaty becomes LOT’s second destination in Kazakhstan, after Astana. The 6.5-hour overnight flight departs Warsaw at 22:40, arriving in Almaty at 08:00 the next day, with return flights at 09:20.

Robert Ludera, Head of Network Planning, said, “Almaty is an important economic centre and a tourist gateway to the Silk Road. With this service and feeder connections, we are strengthening our presence in Central Asia.”

Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, is known for the Green Bazaar, the Museum of Arts, and nearby recreational areas like Shymbulak, Great Almaty Lake, Sharyn Gorge, and Kolsai National Park, making it a key destination for both tourism and business travelers.
