MNTO to highlight India market at OTM 2026 after 224% surge in arrivals to Morocco

Fresh off a historic year of growth, the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO) has confirmed its participation at OTM 2026, scheduled from February 5 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai.

The announcement follows Morocco’s record-breaking tourism performance, with the ‘Kingdom of light’ welcoming 19.8 million international visitors, marking a 14% increase over the previous year and reinforcing its position as Africa’s leading tourism destination.

India has emerged as one of Morocco’s strongest growth markets. Indian tourist arrivals reached 53,697 visitors, registering a 31% year-on-year increase and a remarkable 224% growth compared to 2019 levels. This surge reflects a clear shift in travel preferences, as Indian travelers increasingly gravitate towards Morocco for its blend of luxury experiences, cultural depth, and heritage.

“This remarkable momentum is a testament to the immense growth potential we see in the Indian market and the success of our intensified efforts to showcase Morocco’s unique heritage,” said Jamal Kilito, Country Manager – India, MNTO. “Our participation in OTM 2026 is a strategic commitment to amplify these efforts. The platform allows us to engage meaningfully with the Indian travel trade and transform growing interest into long-term, sustainable partnerships that will strengthen our presence in the region.”

At OTM 2026, MNTO will spotlight Morocco’s evolving tourism narrative through creativity, innovation, and modern Moroccan craftsmanship. The participation aims to introduce a new generation of Indian travelers to the Kingdom’s diverse offerings while reinforcing Morocco’s reputation for warm hospitality and timeless appeal across the Indian subcontinent.
