Moustache Group of Hotels is seeing a clear summer lift across its Himalayan properties, with bookings up 15 to 20 per cent over the average of recent summer periods and average daily rates up by at least 10 per cent in key mountain markets, according to the company. The strongest traction this season is coming from Uttarakhand, followed by Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, and Sikkim, as travellers head to the hills for cooler weather, shorter holidays, and a more complete summer break experience.
The seasonal shift is visible in the weather itself. As temperatures rise in the plains, the hills are offering exactly what summer travellers are looking for: cooler weather, easier short-break planning, and a mix of scenic and family-friendly experiences. Summer timing is also working in favour of hill travel. Nainital is widely recognised as one of Uttarakhand’s best-known summer destinations, with attractions such as Naini Lake, Mall Road and the Naina Devi Temple continuing to draw families and leisure travellers. In Himachal, Dharamshala and McLeodGanj continue to hold their appeal through Bhagsunag Falls, Triund and the wider mountain setting, which makes them especially attractive during the warmer months.

Travellers want relief from the heat, but they also want destinations that are easy to enjoy over a few days. The hills are offering weather, views and a much wider range of stay formats, which is why demand has picked up so sharply.”
The company says families, couples and small groups are emerging as the biggest contributors to this demand. In Nainital, many weekends are already sold out or close to full, which points to how strongly early summer travel is building this year.
