The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts launches Mirrors of Hope, a signature festive initiative showcasing traditional Lippan artistry through handcrafted Lippan Art Christmas Trees installed across select Palace hotels. The initiative blends festive celebration with cultural preservation, sustainability, women empowerment and conscious luxury.
Created in collaboration with women artisans associated with the Karigar Foundation, the Lippan installations are now on display at The Leela Palace New Delhi, The Leela Palace Jaipur, The Leela Palace Bengaluru and The Leela Palace Udaipur. Each modular tree is crafted using sustainable materials, featuring hand-moulded clay motifs, mirror inlays and geometric patterns that reinterpret the traditional Kutch mud-and-mirror craft. Designed for circularity, the trees will be upcycled after the festive season into ornaments, coasters, gifting pieces and other keepsakes.
Anjali Mehra, Executive Vice President – Brand and Communications, The Leela, said, “Mirrors of Hope brings together everything we stand for as a brand. It celebrates heritage, women artisans and the transformative beauty of craft while offering a festive experience that is deeply meaningful and unmistakably The Leela.”
Priyanka Rajgadkar, Associate Vice President – ESG, added, “This initiative is more than festive décor. It centres mindful luxury, circular craftsmanship and women empowerment, ensuring our celebrations also create positive impact.”
Guests are invited to share photos of the installations using #MirrorsOfHope and #LeelaEmpowersHer, with each post supporting women artisans through Threads of Tradition, The Leela’s craft-led CSR initiative focused on skill development, design innovation and livelihood enhancement.
Beyond Mirrors of Hope, several Leela hotels are showcasing sustainability-driven festive installations:
– The Leela Ambience Convention Hotel Delhi: 11-foot tree made from repurposed wooden flooring and a façade crafted from reclaimed conduit pipes.
– The Leela Kovalam, A Raviz Hotel: 15-foot tree created from repurposed coconut husk, celebrating coastal craft and sustainability.
– The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences: A Tree That Tells a Story, shaped by sustainable materials and handcrafted ornaments created by local artisans.
These installations reinforce The Leela’s commitment to conscious luxury, cultural storytelling and craft-led community impact, inviting guests to experience a festive season rooted in heritage and purpose.
